The March Violets began life in 1981 but the past is the past and we live for now and the future! Alt-Fest are very proud to present the original members Si Denbigh, Rosie Garland, Tom Ashton, with new bass player Jo Violet live and on the main stage in 2014.

What's that? You've never heard of one of the most original post punk drum machine bands of all time to hail from Leeds??? How many Gothic bands do you know that you can say have a sound influenced by ZZ Top? Not many, I know!

They were labelmates with The Sisters of Mercy, yet darker and infinitely more messed up than them, and through constant gigging they became integral to the whole Leeds/M62 scene in the early/mid 1980s (hands up anyone who remembers!). We loved them, John Peel loved them, and we assume you loved them too. And now they're back!

Play loud! Play purple!
