Artist and teacher, Lisa Igo, started Igo Eco Arts in 2009 as a local workshop.

In 2011, she began sharing her skills at festivals, left primary school teaching to teach art and craft to festival goers, individuals, community groups and schools.

Lisa makes a variety of items including clay cups, pots and sculptures, candles in vintage teacups and retro tins.

Wool items including bunting and felted objects and natural bath products.

The workshops on offer at AltFest include:

  • Clay pendant making - for bracelets, necklaces, keyrings...
  • Painting pebble pets
  • Lantern painting for tea lights or glow sticks
  • Huge Bubble Wands with Eco Friendly Bubble Mix making
  • Sugar Scrubs
  • Recycled wood art and decoupage

Each day we will offer free workshops which are bookable (please add your name to the list in Kindred Cafe). We expect each workshop to last 30 minutes or more. Please see our A frame boards for times.

We also have games and toys to play with and enter our art competition for the opportunity to win a prize.

We may change the subject of the sessions if others become more popular throughout 2014.

OUR CORE VALUES

Imagine a family cafe space which offers an authentic alternative. We provide a safe, healthy space that offers good quality food and drinks, at a reasonable price.

Our child friendly area also nourishes the soul. Kindred Cafe provides children and families with a space to make time for make-believe, let their imaginations run wild and free, and to have fun.

HOW?

By creating

We believe that offering families a space to safely develop creativity, where they can imagine, explore games and crafts, share stories and make friends, has the power to nourish the creative spark in everyone.

By Connecting

We are committed to providing a cafe to create connections—whether it’s a child and parent connecting over a game; or a broad network of people connecting over tea and cake, sharing values with old friends, or making connections with new ones.

We provide families with a relaxing space to recharge and nourish with good food for their bodies and creative activities for their souls by providing a fun space to connect with others.

Come and rest with kindred souls, relax with us and indulge your taste buds and creativity.

All ages are welcome, including the expectant, arrived and sometimes exhausted.
