Resin are a versatile rock / grunge / metal band from Hinckley, Leicestershire. Although their music style initially has heavy influences from such bands as Alice in Chains, Stone Temples Pilots, Seether and similar but once you have listened to Resin for a short while, you soon realise that there is so much more going on. The band give the 90's grunge movement a modern twist mixing the obvious with rock and metal to bring a very unique quality yet still maintaining a very thoughtful approach to song writing, bringing at times a real emotional journey and constantly pushing the boundaries whilst encouraging the listener to turn the sound up and pay attention.
Starting as a three piece acoustic act, James, Chez and Sime were playing local haunts armed with an arsenal of classic grunge and rock covers, this led very quickly to demands for them to play full gigs.
After trialling drummers and bass players the threesome were adamant that the line-up had to be perfect before their own songs hit the road and at the end of 2010 Sev the Beardy bass player joined the ranks followed shortly by Mark on drums and occasional cello.
The song writing started again in earnest flowing forth from a backlog of experiences that each member had lived through, it was obvious from the outset there was something special coming together.
Writing for six months about hopelessness, addiction, the anguish of loss and the need to please our fellow man and be accepted in society, RESIN was reborn with a collection of new songs which led to the band getting picked up for radio play, festival slots and main support slots for established artists.
2012 saw RESIN playing many venues in the UK supporting bands such as DR & THE MEDICS, VOODOO SIX, SLAM CARTEL, INTERNAL CONFLICT, SPIRYTUS, MORDECAI, to name but a few.
Receiving regular airtime on radio stations around the world and multiple acoustic BBC sessions, RESIN rounded off 2012 to a capacity crowd at the 'EMBRACE THE FALL' album launch party.
With the album now on sale, 2013 became a very busy year for the band. Behind the scenes new songs were being put together already, plenty of gigs were being played as always, and the highlight of the year for RESIN was being invited to play BLOODSTOCK FESTIVAL on the Jagermeister stage and the crowd really got into the acoustic side of Resin!
Shortly after that Mark decided to give up the drum stool and so began what became a six month search for a replacement. The last piece in the jigsaw turned out to be drummer Danny Finch, a hard hitting groove drummer which truly helped RESIN cement their unique sound.
Having recently landed a slot at Alt-Fest after winning a TBFM competition, Resin have also won the final in the West Midlands heat of Metal 2 The Masses which will see them playing on the New Blood stage at Bloodstock Festival 2014.
