Raised in a small town in Lancashire, DJ Vade Retro grew up dreaming of being in a glam rock band (childhood heroes include David Bowie, T. Rex, and Roxy Music). These heroes were replaced by Gary Numan and the New Romantics with the arrival of the synthesizer age, which coincided with moving to London, where he went to University in make-up and outrageous clothes, most of which he designed and made.
Fascinated by Eastern Europe before the fall of the iron curtain DJ Vade Retro toured this area extensively, including a trip to Leipzig, Germany, while still under Communist rule and many years before returning there to play his final gig in 2012 with Global Citizen at WGT - the second biggest alternative festival in the world!
And today DJ Vade Retro has broadened musical horizons, influenced by the goth and early industrial scenes, the wide spectrum of which can be found at Club Reptile. This night was founded by DJ Vade Retro and his wife, Arcadia Noir, in April 2008, and where he is the resident DJ. He is also a resident DJ at Club AntiChrist and guest DJ at numerous alternative events, including Synthetic Culture, Electric Dreams, Fano Music Festival in Italy...
These days find DJ Vade Regro living in a tiny village in Kent with said wife and 3 cats, where he is the the only Goth in the Village and fighting a never-ending battle to convince the locals that he is not the God of Fuck.
