If you are needing a question answered, then there is all ready an amazing FAQ for Alt-Fest available which should answer most questions people might have: alt-fest.com/index.php/info
However, as is the way with Social Media, questions can be fired out and answered on both the Forums and the Facebook quicker than can be updated to the FAQ section. I have gathered below a lot of the questions and answers about Alt-Fest from the Facebook page before they vanished into the ether of the net, so if the FAQ hasn't got the answer you are looking for, try glancing over some of these as well and you might find your answer (most of the answers are direct quotes from the Alt-Fest organisers). And if that still doesn't answer your question, feel free to post it up in the Forums and someone will try to get you an answer as soon as possible Travel & Accomodation: Is there a Trainstation nearby? Yep! 10 mins away (Kettering), we'll have shuttle buses from the train station to the festival and back What is the easiest way to get to the area from heathrow? The closest airport is Luton. Luton has a direct train from the airport to Kettering IF you are definitely coming in to Heathrow - take the Tube to Kings Cross / St Pancras, then train from St Pancras to Kettering which takes around an hour. www.thetrainline.com/train-times/london-...as-intl-to-kettering. Camping Related: Can Gas Stoves be taken into the campsite? What are the details on cooking in the campsite? Unlikely that you'll be able to use gas by your tents. We will have communal cooking area's and full details of the whats and wheres will be released as soon as we complete our SAG (Safety Advisory Group) as the Fire officer will determine what we can and cant do on the campsites form a fire safety perspective. Will have full details late summer. Is camping including in the ticket price No. It is done as a separate add-on when you purchase your tickets. It is done this way to enable people the option of alternative forms of accommodation (such as staying in hotels or camping vans) and is visible on the next page after buying your tickets. Please note that Camping is £20 per person camping (not per tent) If I order tickets today, can I upgrade to camping later? Yes you can. What are Adult and Party camping areas? Adult is no children, no-one under 18, Party is for those that definitely like to stay up late, make noise be communal and Party! What facilities will there be in family camping for the kids? All facilities, washrooms, toilets showers etc, as we are parents ourselves we are also looking into child sized toilets as well... so will be fully kid friendly campsite! Can we bring Camper Vans / Caravans on site? Simply select the campervan add-on pass, you do need to also buy camping per person as well Performing / Getting involved with Alt-Fest: How can we get our band to play at Alt-Fest? You need to email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
with details of your band and links to your website. Please note, there are a limited number of slots available for support bands and most of these have been filled, but there are already over 900 band applications. Because of this, it can take quite some time for answers to be returned in regards to playing at Alt-Fest. Will there be vendors? How to I apply to be a trader? There will be vendors with an entire Alternative Market on site. To apply for a stall, contact Alt-Fest via email to This email address is being protected from spambots. Can I get free entry if I become a steward? We will be doing some form of free entry for stewarding, haven't fully formulated the offering yet however... You will either need tickets or to pay a deposit which is refunded once you have turned up and completed your allocated work slots How do performance walkabout etc artists apply? Best to drop us all your details, bio, images, video and as mush detail as possible to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
Can I help give out flyers, put up posters etc...? It would be really appreciated thank you. Email your address to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
I would like to DJ / Have my club at Alt-Fest. Currently though we are pretty full on DJs, however *may* have some metal slots, please email us in Sept when we will know what the metal 'entertainment' will be after the metal stage closes each evening... ) Line Up / Activities Questions: Is the line up finalised? It is mainly Headliners (to be announced mid-August to early Autumn) and some metal bands (due to booking agent requirements) that left to be booked. There are however over 100 bands already booked and announced. What time will bands begin to play on the Friday?Currently planned to start at Midday but that may well change, we will have full details posted a lot nearer with full running times etc With this line up, how the hell do you make a choice of what stage to go to etc? The line-up is amazing even though we say so ourselves! Carefully planning on our part to limit too many crossovers of like bands and then the same on your part! Not too much walking on site though so you can always zip between stages!! What sort of things do you guys have in mind under 'art'? Well, to be entirely honest (as is our wont) we don't yet have a master plan. We're thinking sculptures, interactive projects that everyone can help and have a go at, maybe galleries for artists to showcase paintings/photographs, maybe art classes like Dr Sketchys or meet-the-artist events... Do you have any ideas to add to the pot? Will there be workshops? YES there will be workshops for all ages from kids to learning to art to graffiti as well as Adult workshops and demos in the adult area. What is your budget for headliners? Between 300k and 550k dependent on projected turnout Vs a particularly large act we have an offer in for. Additional artist budgets are tiered so once we reach a projected tickets sold tier the artist budget increases. Tickets: How do I go about using the deposit system for the ticket payment plan? simply go to our ticket shop alt-fest.com/index.php/tickets and in the drop down next to tickets it has payment plan, select this to 'Payment plan' add the number of tickets, tick confirm and you'll see a break down of the first payment Vs the following 3 payments starting a month later. Do you actually have to be a couple to purchase the couples ticket? Can you just be two mates and camp together in seperate tents for the couples ticket price? Yes you may, we designed this so the festival was more affordable for couples and/or families, camping is per person, but you and a friend may get a couples ticket. How do Snoozebox bookings work? Is there a max capacity? What is the cancellation policy? Does the cancellation protection cover the Snoozebox as well? There is a maximum number of Snoozebox rooms available so they could potentially sell out at some point. The cancellation policy applies to the whole value of the sale full terms are here: dyxdrt0m3oez9.cloudfront.net/Clubtickets-TicketPlan-Terms.pdf . There is also a bit more detail here: alt-fest.com/index.php/info/accomodation-5-snoozebox It says under 12s are free but is there a minimum child age? It's entirely up to you, we are going with our son who will be11 and our daughter who will be 5. How long are the tickets available at the early bird price? They are based on quantity sold Vs announcement of the headliners, which ever happens first will define when they go up... IE limited stocks and how long they last cant specifically say, sorry that doesn't help much. That said we have a deferred payment plan now so you can spread the payment over 4 months thus also guaranteeing the early-bird price Any plans for an affiliate scheme for ticket sales? Yes we can do this already...get in touch! This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
Concerns / Other Questions: I hate living in America and seeing all these huge tours elsewhere. What is an American rivet head to do? Come over for a holiday?! Is Alt-Fest supporting any charities? We are supporting S.O.P.H.I.E for the very reason of the work they are doing to promote awareness of hate crimes in our culture is amazing... we'll also be doing donations for the foundation on our ticket shop and the foundation will be joining us at Alt-Fest. Are you able to use the house at all for indoor activities or is it just strictly the grounds use only? Grounds only, the Duke lives in the house! Will there be parking available at the festival for those booked at nearby hotels ? "You will be able to buy a full festival parking permit and come and go as you please" Is there any reason the festival won't happen? No absolutely not, other than (the most unlikely) things totally outside of our control for example acts of God, war.... those aside everything else is 100% Is this going to be a yearly event and how many people do you need to attract to do it again in 2015? It is indeed a yearly event, the number of people we attract in 2014 isn't an absolute measure of success affecting 2015, additionally we'll need to start booking the acts for 2015 before 2014 has taken place. I am concerned Alt-Fest will clash with Bloodstock in 2014 Technically speaking Bloodstock is ALWAYS on the second week of August, we are the 3rd, we announced nearly a year ago so be a bit silly of them to change weeks and clash, but that of course is up to them. They haven't announced the date yet 100%. This page will get updated. Questions that are felt better off in the main FAQ will be removed from here whilst other questions that get thought off and answered either on the forums or other social media sites will get added |
